Thurmond,
West Virginia (WV)

From the
late-1800's through the first half of
the Twentieth Century Thurmond, West Virginia
(WV) was a major shipping point
on the the C&O Railway
with hundreds of
railroad cars of "smokeless"
coal passing off the coalfields of
Thurmond's branch line railroads each
day. Today Thurmond is the
smallest city in West Virginia, with a
population of seven people.

C&O Railway.
